Blackjack Variations

One of the beautiful things about online Blackjack is that it comes in so many variations that there is bound to be a Blackjack game for everybody. What this means is, you can never get bored with playing Blackjack online. There will always be new types of Blackjack that you haven't tried yet, complete with their own particular Blackjack rules and Blackjack strategies.

Of course, even regular old Blackjack has a lot of variety. Classic Blackjack, Atlantic City Blackjack, Vegas Strip Blackjack, and European Blackjack are just a few of the more well-known types of Blackjack. There are single-deck Blackjack games as well as Blackjack games with two, four, five, and eight decks. There are games in which the dealer hits on soft 17; others in which he stands. There are Blackjack games that allow multiple splits, and games that allow doubling after a split. You can find games that allow doubling down on any two cards, and games that allowing doubling only with specified cards. There are online Blackjack games with or without surrender, and with or without insurance. So, you can see that "regular old Blackjack" is hardly so regular or so old.

Now, add to that some really far-out Blackjack casino games that go way beyond anything you have experienced at any Blackjack table. Here are a few of them:

Bonus Blackjack: Bonus Blackjack has special bonus payouts for certain two-card combination, including a 50-to-1 payout for an ace and jack of spades.

Double Exposure Blackjack: Both of the dealer's cards are face up in Double Exposure Blackjack, so you can make a more informed decision whether to hit, stand, double, or split.

Super Fun 21 Blackjack: Super Fun 21 Blackjack provides special bonus payouts for a five-card 21 and a diamond Blackjack.

Triple 7s Blackjack: In Triple 7s Blackjack, you can win bonus payouts for one, two, or three sevens, and a progressive jackpot, worth more than $100,000 and growing by the second, for three diamond 7s.

Pontoon: Pontoon is Blackjack, UK-style, with its own special vocabulary and a bonus for a "5-card trick."

Spanish Blackjack: Spanish Blackjack is played with 48-card decks that do not have "10" cards, and awards bonuses for certain combinations.

Blackjack Switch: In Blackjack Switch you are dealt two hands, and you can trade cards between the two to make the best possible combinations.

Matchplay 21: Matchplay 21 is played with 48-card decks, like Spanish Blackjack, and provides bonuses for certain combinations, like Triple 7s Blackjack.

Chinese Blackjack: Chinese Blackjack is a Blackjack type that provides bonus payouts for a "ban ban," a "ban nag," or a "5-dragon."

Double Attack Blackjack: Double Attack Blackjack is played with a Spanish 48-card deck and has a side "bust-it" bet with high payouts.

Elimination Blackjack: Elimination Blackjack is a Blackjack tournament game in which your goal is not only to beat the dealer, but also to beat your fellow players so you can advance to the next round of the tournament.

Multi-Hand Blackjack: As the name implies, you can play several Blackjack hands at once in Multi-Hand Blackjack. There are many varieties of multi-hand Blackjack. You can play Multi-Hand Classic Blackjack, Multi-Hand Atlantic City Blackjack, Multi-Hand Double Exposure Blackjack, Multi-Hand Pontoon, and so on. In fact, almost every single-hand Blackjack game also comes in a multi-hand variety.

So the next time you play Blackjack online, why not try something new and different. Pick an internet Blackjack game you have never played before, learn the rules and strategy of your new game, and play a few practice games before you start wagering real money. And don't forget, the best place to do it is at Wild Jack Casino, your internet Blackjack casino.

Rules for Different Blackjack Variations

Most Blackjack variations - such as classic Blackjack, Atlantic City Blackjack, Vegas Strip Blackjack, and Downtown Vegas Blackjack - follow the rules described on this page. The differences are in the fine points of the particular Blackjack game. Some Blackjack games allow surrender or insurance or resplitting; others do not. Some Blackjack games allow doubling down on any two cards; some only on certain combinations. In some games, the dealer stands on soft 17; in others, he hits. The specific rules of each particular game are clearly stated in the Help screen of the game, so you will never have to guess.

Some Blackjack variations have more unusual rules. In Double Exposure Blackjack, for example, both of the dealer's cards are dealt face up. In Spanish Blackjack, the 10s are removed from the deck, so you are playing with a 48-card deck. For the rules of these and other off-the-beaten-path Blackjack games, please see Blackjack Variations.

That's really all there is to know. If you've never played the game before, it can be a little intimidating at first. Just sit down at a table with a friendly-looking dealer and give it a try. After 10 minutes, all these details will be easy. Like many things, it's easier done than said!

Good luck!
